"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God" (Romans 8:9 KJV)
In this generation, many believers only have itching ears. They keep jumping from one place to another, looking for people to tell them all there is about their lives, as though they want to use some palm readers to tell them about what they should do in life. These folks are not ready at all to learn how to live the life of progressive and ever - increasing glory, learning the ways of God from one step to the other in order to have the acts of God. Yet God commissioned us to go and make learners of His ways (disciples), not learners of his acts alone.
There is more to life than receiving a healing or miracle; those are 'acts' of God. But when you get to know the ways of God, the acts of God will rather give you a further revelation of God's ways and His personality. Thank God we have been learning the ways of God and how He leads us by the Holy Spirit. That would take us from every kind of struggle or pending evil. Amen.
Believers are not supposed to lack direction at all, counting the various ways God has ordained for us to be led. It is important to know that in this New Covenant, God IS NOT leading us primarily by Prophets. Many believers do not know this, so they leave the fate of their lives to so - called Prophets. We are not old Covenant saints! In the Old covenant, God's leading for His people was limited to that of the Prophet. They were referred to as "the servants of God” (2 Kings 9:7), so God would say "believe in my servants and prophets that ye may prosper" (2 Chro. 20:20). But in the New Covenant, servants of God refers to apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers and believers because we have been made King Priests - God's Holy Spirit has not only been poured upon our spirits, but has come to dwell in our spirits. Glory to Jesus!
God never said we should be led by Prophets, but by the Holy Spirit. Prophets have their own place in the New Covenant. They do not LEAD us, but they CONFIRM a word of God which we have already received by the Inward Witness. That was how the Prophets operated in the early Church, and you can know that they will operate same in these very last days too. When Agabus Prophesied about Paul's persecution in Jerusalem, it was not news to Paul. He already knew of that by the Inward Witness, and he had prepared for it. Our lives must not be determined by Prophets, but the leading of the Holy Spirit because we are sons of God. Halleluiah!
Friend, you must not just move from one country to another or one job to another because of a Prophecy you heard, which you had no inward witness of. Any true Prophet will tell you this truth that Prophecies are supposed to confirm a word you have received in your spirit. If a so called prophecy you hear is against God's witness in your spirit, you have to reject it. That means we have to train our spirits to receive God's witness first, so we are rightly guided by prophecies.
