The very word itself is enough to make any one understand that, one would have to be spiritually sick to listen to 'secular' music......mind you; secular as used here refers literally to the 'world' as Christians would have it called......

Now, the bible says in the 15th division of the book of john, the verse 19 that, though we are in the world, we are not of the world, because he Jesus has chosen us out of the world....if you believe what the bible says in the tenth division of the book of john, the verse 35 that the scripture cannot be broken, then u should understand by now that, u as a child of god reading this right, is actually living in heaven, eating of heaven, breathing air from heaven and virtually doing everything by the energy of the holy ghost.

If therefore you know this, the truth of this alone should be enough to make any one know that, you can't be a child of Jesus, living in your heavenly home even though absent in the body, and (2cor. 5:6).....then there is absolutely no way the child of god can condescend to partaking in the activities of the world.

One ought to understand that the works of the flesh are meant to be the characteristic of those men who are of the world, but not us who believe in the name of the lord Jesus. Listening to music that is sung, produced and produced by people of a different spirit is definitely not the perfect will of god (Rom. 12:2) for their lives....the bible makes us know that words could actually be medium of ministering life or death to a listener; and words could also minister either evil spirits or the holy spirit to anyone listening to those words, and that is why the bible says, life and death are in the power of the tongue.

Now, therefore, it is up to the believer to know that he or she has to decide what to listen by the word of god.....is the Holy Spirit’s ministration you want for your life? Then you can't afford to listen to music that glorifies the spirit of the antichrist....all what they sing about is actually has themes ranging from "love" (not the love of god, mind you ), hatred, violence, wealth, women, fornication, lust and all what the bible has not commanded the child of god to identify with .

If the child of god really wants to have his or her life glorify god, i suggests he or she should show that through his or her life practically, and that should be making sure the body which the bible says is actually the temple of the holy ghost, does not get contaminated with foreign material that comes from the devil anyway.....every music has a spirit behind it because it comprises of words....if it glorifies god, be sure the holy spirit is behind; likewise if has self and worldly glorification, it must then have the devil behind it.......listen therefore to songs that have your lord and saviour at the center of their themes......

I would love to write more than this, giving detail exposition on reasons why the child of god can and must only listen to good Christian music......watch out soon for a blog from me either on this network, or on www.godrev.com, where i trust that god will give me the grace sufficient to be able to write in detail about this theme.....

Thank you for reading this and anyone who feels the need to get more insight on this particular issue can reach me via princeq2t@gmail.com

God bless you!!

Prince Kay.

In fact I couldn't have disagreed with Prince Kay on his contribution to the topic. I think we should commend such contributions and give Glory to God for people like that.

Now to the Topic. I don't understand why believers always want to deceive themselves that they are part of this world. Indeed we are part of the cosmopolitan, but not of the masses. Like Prince rightly said, we feed on a different type of food and so we listen to a different kind of music as well.

I've heard some folks also say that some of these worldly songs give advice. Well, they may be doing that, but then Truth is from source and not in content, that is why the Apostles rebuked the young person who was testifying of them with the wrong spirit. It is from source, not in content!!

We don't need to have any kind of good relationship with secular music, as children of God. We were born of God and have to live our lives as such. We know that music might not seek your permission before entering into your mind, but I believe we can still choose to feed our mind with the right kind of music and also be able to take out unwholesome music.

Thanks.....
