THE CALL
2009.11.09 11:23:10
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Matt 28:18-19

Did you know that within your spirit is the need to talk to someone? I guess the question running through your head is “ABOUT WHAT?” Does this statement “...go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” ring a bell? Beloved, deep inside the heart of every Christian is the Saviour’s last command. And he expects this to be our first command as believers. How many of us are truly making this our topmost priority? We have a call to snatch from fire those who are perishing but most of us have ignored this call and are doing our own things. The commission was not given for us to carry out as and when we please. Do you know that a lot of people are going to hell just because you have kept quiet? Will you be able to account for the soul of that sinner in your class, workplace or neighbourhood? Do you know that your silence is causing sadness in heaven? (Luke 15:10... there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents.)
The nicest part of this call is that He just did not give the command but attached a promise to it “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” What are you doing with this promise?
The message, the gospel, that we are supposed to preach contains God’s power and reveals God’s righteousness to man. It brings liberty, health and sets the soul free from sin “...Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest (Matt 11:28).”  Paul also said “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION to everyone that believeth. (Rom 1:16)” This is what we call the gospel of Grace or the Glorious gospel.
I believe that at this point, this question might be running through your mind “what do I need to answer this call?” The answer is simple LOVE. Jesus admonished us to love one another and this love is supposed to propel us to snatch from fire them that are perishing. I believe without love, you cannot preach the gospel. It takes love to testify to your parents. It takes love to walk to a friend and tell him about Jesus. It takes love to share Christ with a total stranger and even your enemy.
Christ, before He gave the commission, said “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth...”He gave us the commission with the backing of His authority. So beloved; you have all it takes to save a dying soul from hell. You have the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

So then, how do we carry out this call? “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. (Matt 5:14-15)” As Christians, people should look at our life and give theirs to Christ. Is your life an LED, emitting the glory and power of Christ?
Interestingly, we are not being forced to do it. You can decide not to but Rom 10:15 says “how lovely are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings. Don’t you want your feet to be lovely? (Don’t take this literally)
“Woe is me if I don’t preach the gospel” (1Cor 9:16) this is how Paul took the call. Do you want Jesus to ask that “will you also go away?” (John 6:67). Can you look into the face of Jesus and refuse to heed this call? Or look at him on the cross and refuse to preach the gospel? Can you imagine all the beatings which bring our healing and say no or give an excuse? Can you say “for this cause i faint not? (2 Cor 4:16)
The bible even says “he who wins souls is wise”. Like Paul, can we say that the things that happen to us are for the furtherance of the gospel? (Philip. 1:12) Can we sit still with all the power and watch souls perish? Where would you have been if you hadn’t heard the gospel and where do you think your brother or sister will be if he/she doesn’t hear the gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit (1Thess 2:8-12)?
If you have started your work, God bless you and may He continue to strengthen you to do His will. If you have not, I can only admonish you to start (2 Tim 1:8). The road will be rough but know that God will NEVER forget your labour of love. (1 Thess. 3:7-13 & 1 Cor. 15:57)

GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU
