It was a night full of splendour and praise, worship, beauty and great joy. It was a night of Glory as each and every person present was satisfied in experiencing the manifestation of the Glory of the Lord.
After opening prayer and worship were made at about 6:30pm, the choir from Legon was called upon to minister heavenly songs unto the Glory of God. After the praises and worship a lady was called upon to give a poetry recitation where she magnified the name of the Lord with appellations. The poem was about the greatness of God and how He surpasses all other beings and manmade objects. The crowd could but stand and scream, jump and hail the recitations as she went along. She indeed represented God above all other things…for truly God is like “GLICO…He cushions you for life”, God is like “Tom Tom…what a sweet relief He gives”, God is like “KLM your number one way to Heaven”. She was then followed with choreography from the PENSA Literary Society (PLS) who did a demonstration of God’s Glory. The mass choir came with a two song ministrations which got almost the whole house being on their feet and dancing along. As they sang choreography was performed alongside to explain further the meanings of the songs ministered. We were blessed with a surprise visit by the General Secretary of the Church Apostle Alfred Kodua who gave about a five minute impart filled message about sexual immorality; and indeed “that same Spirit of the lord” was present amongst His saints as he touched exactly on the same message Pastor Nyamekye had touched on earlier in the day; which was also about the prophecy that came through Mrs Abigail Kyei about sanctification and staying away from sexual immoralities. It was so surprising to note, as though he had conferred with Ps Nyamekye before coming over as he mentioned almost the same things as the pastor had mentioned earlier on. He quoted 1 Thessalonians 4:1-7 but stressed so much on the verse 3 “for this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication”. He came to encourage we the youth to desist from all sexual immoralities and rather keep our bodies Holy pure unto God since it is the Temple of the Holy Spirit. We need to control our bodies and tell the body it was made for Jesus but until that happens; the body will continue to control us he said. We need to control our sexual desires and flee from all sexual immoralities. His message was proof that the same Spirit which was with our Apostolic fathers was still working in us even until today. After his short but powerful message the offertory was taken which was led by the choir. The drama group had a message for the participants through their play. They acted Joseph and his trails with his family and portiphar’s wife (Genesis 39). Another sketch was made to prove Jesus’ healing power and Glory. It was about a man; Harold Newman who was arrested by police because he claimed that Jesus had healed his blindness with sand and saliva. In order to escape the long arms of the law, he tried several times to lie to the officers that his sight had not yet been restored and that all he said earlier were just lies. It was later found out that his blindness was just as a way of God glorifying His son Jesus on earth. After this, was another second drama which was about a university graduate who had gone to a mental hospital to be interviewed for a job. His interviewer happened to be an atheist who never believed in the existence of a creator called. He believed that there was no second coming because he couldn’t see how man could fly and catch up with Christ in heaven without wings. He also argued that if the Bible claims baal’s donkey could talk to him, why then can’t animals talk to humans now. But the gentleman kept on explaining and defending what his belief in the Bible. As the argument heated up in the interview room, the doctor recommended the graduate be sent to the mental hospital for medical examination. But as they stood and continued the debate nurses came and grabbed the doctor laid him on the consultation desk injected him and sent him out of the room. A different doctor then came in to apologize to the interviewee because apparently he had been interrogated by a mentally disabled person. It was then made known to the interviewee that the fake doctor (a former archeologist) had written books and made researches to prove the non existence of God but interestingly, his own theories turned out to prove that God exists and is greater far above all other things. This made him doubt his very own existence which led him to his insanity. The right doctor interviewed the gentleman who went though successfully. The mentally disabled man had thought the graduate was a fool for believing in a God but he was counteracted by the Bible quotation “it is only a fool who says in his heart that there’s no God”. After their powerful ministration was the UG choir Led by Eric Okyere was called upon to lead the congregation to a time of worship. The famous worship icon Eugene Zuta took over and further lifted up the hearts and voices of the saints up higher to, indeed it was an awesome visitation as many cried their hearts out unto the Lord. After the worship it was time for some announcements and a closing prayer was said followed by benediction to disperse the heart filled delegates.
